Updates for March 2008

We've added public websites for teachers and schools. Boths websites show welcome messages and profile picture which can be customized using the My Account link at the top of the page. School websites provide links to each of the teachers registered at the school, teacher websites show a list of classes in that account and the class calendar for each. Note that these websites only show non-private information, students and parents will still need to log in to see private information such as grades and attendance.

New Class Calendars with File Uploads
We've improved the functionality of the class calendars, allowing teachers to enter multiple events per day, categorize those events, attach any files they wish to upload, and allow students/parents to post comments on entries. Plus, anytime teachers enter an assignment into their gradebooks, those assignments will automatically be added to the calendar. Teachers can manage their uploaded files by clicking My Classes and then the My Files link in the Tools box.

Manually Enter Grades
Teachers can now manually enter class grades for students using the new button above the gradebook. We added this feature especially for our many new friends in the British school system.

Lots of New School Features
If your school hasn't sign up for an Engrade school account yet, we highly recommend it does. Joining a school allows all the teachers in a school to message each other, it allows admin to message teachers, it allows admin to add or edit class rosters to teacher accounts, and it now provides students and parents with a great public directory of all the teachers at the school. So have your school join today!
